The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
