The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
