So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
