Alshu'araa' 9 of 11

The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
