The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
