[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
