[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
