The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
