The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
