And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
