And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, "Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
