This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
