Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
