This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
