Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
