The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, 1 A guidance and glad tidings for the believers. 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. 5 You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves. 7 But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, 10 Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful. 11 Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." 12 But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." 13 And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers. 14
