The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, 1 They are glad news and guidance for the believers 2 Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 3 As for those who will not believe in the life to come - behold, goodly have We made their own doings appear unto them, and so they stumble blindly to and fro 4 Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. 6 [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise; 9 [And then He said:] "Now throw down thy staff!" But when he saw it move rapidly, as if it were a serpent, he drew back [in terror,] and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] O Moses! Fear not - for, behold, no fear need the message-bearers have in My Presence, 10 "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. 12 But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" 13 And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers. 14
