Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
