Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim 1 The sending down of the Book in which there is no doubt that is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or do they say, 'He has forged it'? Say: 'Not so; it is the truth from thy Lord that thou mayest warn a people to whom no warner came before thee, that haply so they may be guided. 3 Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He mounted the throne (of authority); you have not besides Him any guardian or any intercessor, will you not then mind? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 Such is He, the Knower of all things, hidden and open, the Exalted (in power), the Merciful;- 6 He Who excelled in the creation of all that He created. He originated the creation of man from clay, 7 And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised: 8 Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye! 9 And they say: When we are lost in the earth, how can we then be re-created? Nay but they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ (Muhammad), say, "The angel of death, who is appointed over everyone of you, will cause you to die and to your Lord you will all return." 11
