And those who disbelieve say: we shall by no means believe in this Qur'an nor in that which hath been before it. Would that thou couldst see when the wrong-doers shall be made to stand before their Lord! They shall cast back the word one to another; those who were deemed weak will say unto those who were stiff-necked: had it not been for you, surely we should have been believers. 31 [And] those who were wont to glory in their arrogance will say unto those who had been weak: "Why - did we keep you [forcibly] from following the right path after it had become obvious to you? Nay, it was but you [yourselves] who were guilty!" 32 Those who were despised say unto those who were proud: Nay but (it was your) scheming night and day, when ye commanded us to disbelieve in Allah and set up rivals unto Him. And they are filled with remorse when they behold the doom; and We place carcans on the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught save what they used to do? 33 And We sent not a warner unto a town but the affluent thereof said: verily in that wherewith ye have been sent we are disbelievers. 34 And they say: We have more wealth and children, and we shall not be punished. 35 Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it], but most of the people do not know." 36
