And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 We have laid out gardens of dates and grapes upon it, and made springs of water flow, 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
