The dead land is a sign for them. We revive it, and from it produce grain from which they eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 And when it is said unto them: fear that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy, they withdraw. 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
