The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
