۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
