۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of delight, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
