۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
