۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
