۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
