۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
