Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
