۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
