And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
