THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 and We gave them the Clear Book, 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they denounced him as a liar, so they will surely be arraigned (for punishment), 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace upon Elias." 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
