Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So you and your deities 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
