Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So you and your deities 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
