Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 They used to say before: 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
