Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are the rangers, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
