And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not then mind? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
