S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say: 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
