Would We treat the God-conscious in the same manner as the wicked? 28 (It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful. 29 To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)! 30 When the noble galloping horses were displayed to him one evening, 31 Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said): 32 "Bring them back unto me!" - and would [lovingly] stroke their legs and their necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). 35 We therefore gave the wind under his control, moving steadily by his command wherever he wished. 36 and the satans, every builder and diver 37 and others chained in fetters. 38 'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' 39 And lo! he hath favour with Us, and a happy journey's end. 40
