And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire. 27 Do We consider the righteously striving believers equal to the evil-doers in the land? Are the pious ones equal to those who openly commit sin? 28 [All this have We expounded in this] blessed divine writ which We have revealed unto thee, [O Muhammad,] so that men may ponder over its messages, and that those who are endowed with insight may take them to heart. 29 And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 30 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said: my Lord! forgive me, and bestow on me a dominion which no one may obtain beside me: verily Thou! Thou art the Bestower. 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, so that it blew gently, at his behest, wherever he willed, 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 As also others bound together in fetters. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 He has a high position with Us and an excellent abode. 40
