And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 This is a Book which We have sent down upon you, a blessed Book, for them to ponder upon its verses, and for men of intellect to accept advice. 29 We gave Solomon to David; and he was an excellent worshiper, he was penitent. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 Indeed, We tried Solomon and placed a body (of a child) upon his throne, then he repented. 34 Saying: "O Lord, forgive me, and give me such a dominion as none will merit after me. You are the great bestower." 35 So We subjected to him the wind, that ran at his commandment, softly, wherever he might light on, 36 and the satans, every builder and diver 37 and others linked together in fetters. 38 “This is Our bestowal – you may therefore bestow favours or withhold them – you will not be questioned.” 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
