And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
