SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: It is a message of importance, 67 Whence ye turn away! 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 Only this has been revealed to me that I am a distinct warner. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them: 73 except Iblis who puffed himself up with pride and became a disbeliever. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 He said, “My Lord! Therefore give me respite till the day when all will be raised.” 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 Until the Day of the time appointed. 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 It, (the Quran), is nothing but a reminder to you from the Lord of the Universe. 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
