Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say: It is tremendous tidings 67 yet you ignore it. 68 "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves. 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 and My curse shall remain upon you till the Day of Resurrection.” 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 He (Allah) said: 'You are among those that are respited 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He said, “Therefore, by oath of Your honour, I will surely mislead all of them.” 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 It is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
