54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Ha Mim. 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
