Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha Mim: 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
