Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
