54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
