The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
